Meriplex Family Loses One of Our Own

Meriplex Communications is sad to announce that long-time employee, Kim Berry, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 1, 2018.

Kim considered Meriplex her second family and this loss is felt greatly by all of us who worked, loved, and laughed with her over the past ten years. Her positive attitude and strength of character, even during her darkest hours, will not be forgotten. She lived life out loud, teaching us thru example about Strength, Positivity, Courage, and Love. Throughout her final months, Kim never missed an opportunity to say, “I love you.”

Those of us who worked with Kim know of her valiant struggle with cancer over these past years. We rallied to support Kim and lift her spirits, including sending a message to J. J. Watt, whom Kim admired for his work ethic that matched her own.

Since the beginning of MD Anderson’s BootWalk to #endcancer, Meriplex employees generously supported Kim and #TeamBerry in their fundraising efforts. Kim’s best friend and coworker Terry, organizer of #TeamBerry, was recently recognized by MD Anderson as being one of the Top 100 Fundraisers.

Kim joined Meriplex as a structured cabling contractor in 2007 before coming aboard full-time in 2008. She quickly made a powerful and positive impact thru her ability to build lasting customer relationships based on trust by delivering high-quality services. Her word was her bond and she never took no for an answer, seeing it as a challenge to find another way to provide the solution. Kim’s work ethic and discipline earned her a promotion to Structured Cabling Operations Manager.

Our prayers are with her family in this time of grief, especially her mom, Barbara Berry, spouse, Tami Sandlin, step-daughter, Danielle Sandlin, sister-in-law, Donece Berry, and best friend Terry Topper.

A celebration of life is planned at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7 at 10 AM. Tributes, messages, and flowers may be sent to the family in their care.
