Houston, TX – February 9, 2021 – Meriplex, a managed cybersecurity, IT, and SD-WAN solutions provider, welcomes the addition of General Counsel, Jason Nelson to the Senior Executive Team. In this role, Jason will be responsible for overseeing all merger and acquisition activity, managing corporate governance, and serving as strategic counsel for Meriplex.

With nearly 20 years’ experience at the executive level advising public and private clients in a panoply of complex transactional areas, Jason brings a wealth of legal knowledge and financial expertise to influence business-driven decisions. His legal practice has included many areas of federal, state, tribal, and international law including securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, capital markets, commercial contracts, debt finance, joint ventures, economic and policy development, and more.
Jason was in private practice with several law firms including Barry Conge Bond, Burleson, and Hogan Lovells, and has performed sophisticated cross-border deal work in Australia, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. Prior to becoming an attorney, Jason worked in Finance for prominent firms such as Wachovia Securities, Enron Energy Services, and JPMorgan Chase & CO.

Jason graduated with a JD, cum laude, from University of Michigan Law School, MA in Organizational Behavior and MA in Sociology from Stanford University, MBA from Tulane University, and a BS in Finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Houston Clear Lake.
