Meriplex Receives 2017 Backup & Disaster Recovery Award

Houston, Texas – April 9, 2018 –Meriplex Communications announced today that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named Meriplex Cloud Solutions as a 2017 Cloud Computing Backup and Disaster Recovery Award winner, presented by TMC’s Cloud Computing Magazine.

The Cloud Computing Backup and Disaster Recovery Award recognizes technologies and vendors that have built cloud solutions that empower businesses small or large to remain active and productive under even the most challenging conditions, minimizing lost business opportunities.

“As Meriplex strives to become the service provider of choice, this award demonstrates that we are moving in the right direction. Meriplex is grateful and honored to have received this award and thanks TMC for their confidence,” said David Henley, President of Meriplex. “We are always looking for ways to be at the top of our industry and provide the best solutions to our valued customers.”

Meriplex Cloud Solutions Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) platforms offer customers peace of mind that their business data is retained and available in a secure and high quality data center.

Meriplex BaaS provides a dependable cloud-based backup and recovery service that can be accessed from any location. Meriplex designs, implements and maintains BaaS solutions by putting customers at ease knowing restoration is readily available when needed.

Meriplex DraaS is a customizable disaster recovery solution that allows for business data to be replicated and stored in a remote facility in the event of major equipment failure or natural disaster. This solution provides same-day minimal impact to the customer’s business operations as the data is secured, allowing Meriplex to act as the main compute and storage center until the business operations are restored. This solution abates the need for a business to support additional costly hardware, maintenance and second datacenter.

“Recognizing excellence in the advancement of cloud computing technologies, TMC is proud to announce Meriplex Cloud Solutions as a recipient of the Cloud Computing Backup and Disaster Recovery Award,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “Meriplex Communications is being honored for their achievement in bringing innovation to the market, while leveraging the latest technology trends.”

Meriplex Family Loses One of Our Own

Meriplex Communications is sad to announce that long-time employee, Kim Berry, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 1, 2018.

Kim considered Meriplex her second family and this loss is felt greatly by all of us who worked, loved, and laughed with her over the past ten years. Her positive attitude and strength of character, even during her darkest hours, will not be forgotten. She lived life out loud, teaching us thru example about Strength, Positivity, Courage, and Love. Throughout her final months, Kim never missed an opportunity to say, “I love you.”

Those of us who worked with Kim know of her valiant struggle with cancer over these past years. We rallied to support Kim and lift her spirits, including sending a message to J. J. Watt, whom Kim admired for his work ethic that matched her own.

Since the beginning of MD Anderson’s BootWalk to #endcancer, Meriplex employees generously supported Kim and #TeamBerry in their fundraising efforts. Kim’s best friend and coworker Terry, organizer of #TeamBerry, was recently recognized by MD Anderson as being one of the Top 100 Fundraisers.

Kim joined Meriplex as a structured cabling contractor in 2007 before coming aboard full-time in 2008. She quickly made a powerful and positive impact thru her ability to build lasting customer relationships based on trust by delivering high-quality services. Her word was her bond and she never took no for an answer, seeing it as a challenge to find another way to provide the solution. Kim’s work ethic and discipline earned her a promotion to Structured Cabling Operations Manager.

Our prayers are with her family in this time of grief, especially her mom, Barbara Berry, spouse, Tami Sandlin, step-daughter, Danielle Sandlin, sister-in-law, Donece Berry, and best friend Terry Topper.

A celebration of life is planned at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7 at 10 AM. Tributes, messages, and flowers may be sent to the family in their care.
